| ORANGEBURG — Several workers at a small company on Route 303 were taken to a hospital after they reported smelling fumes this morning.
Police and paramedics were dispatched to Nova Optical Lab at 165 Route 303 at 10 a.m. At least three workers reported feeling ill.
The fumes apparently came from the exhaust of a waste management truck that was removing nonhazardous waste from the building, according to Orangetown police Lt. Lorraine Wetzel.
Ambulances from South Orangetown, Pearl River and Nanuet were at the scene, she said.
Workers reported having headaches, and one employee suffered chest pains. |
